![]() A disappointing day for both sides as our top side's clash with Hurstbridge at home, and the second side's game at Bundoora were washed out without a bowl cast. This result was particularly damaging for the twos, who are sitting 2nd at this time and a win at Bundoora could have helped close the gap at the top. Fortunately for both sides, neither section was able to complete enough games, so we don't slip behind. This Saturday, the ones take on Richmond Union away, with the winner staking a definite claim for fifth position, and the twos have another chance to catch up vital ground when they take on Kew Heights at home. ![]() A couple of great games on Thursday night - notably where Trevor Headland took on last year's club champion David Duncan in the Two Bowl Championship. David was a bit too strong for Trevor and got home 21/11. The other game of the night was between John Hughes and Graeme Down in the President's Handicap. Graeme established a good lead early, only to see it evaporate down the stretch and John played some superb draw bowls at the finish to get home 25/24. We have rather a diverse membership, with members travelling from as far as Frankston and Noble Park to play, thus showing the appeal of our small but tightly knit group.
Our club celebrated its' 85th birthday last year - local identities formed it way back in 1913 and we have developed a proud history, capturing four RVBA pennants during our time. Hopefully the next one is just around the corner!
